The wine is an Italian icon, as strong as the David and the Colosseum, as popular as the Pizza and the Opera. We picked wine as the symbol of what makes Italy a unique place where, fort its widespread beauty and for its art of living well, every curious, sensitive traveller belong a little.
Travelling the wine roads, besides wine tastings, is for us crossing history and art, exploring the local life, tradition and cuisine. Going “slow” is another key concept: we don’t rush from Naples to Venice, we travel, forgetting “the best of Italy in a week”.
We don’t simply drink or eat, we taste, we appreciate our wines in a complete experience, within a picture-perfect landscape, sitting in a charming castle or villa, chatting in the best restaurants, where the cooks are like ministers and eating is a ritual.
Tuscany, Piedmont, Puglia, Sicily, Veneto… all these places are treasure chests of art, gold mines for the more demanding and curious foodies, and reveal hundreds of fine wines, each one with a story, a taste and a dish to taste with.
Of course we’ll see the touristic stars, like Florence, Taormina, or Venezia, often crowded and busy, but what we cherish most are the places off-the-beaten-path, the little genuine towns, the trattorìas that treasures his family dishes, all so different between Sicily and Piedmont, for example, like between Greece and France.
We love the wineries with a different attitude, not with so many points, small ones mostly: winemakers working for a passion, perfectionists like ancient alchemists, who make the wines that the Italians like, and that, more important, that they love themselves.
And we love, especially, the more territorial wines, with an history behind them. Aglianico, Falerno, Primitivo, Nebbiolo, Marsàla, Vinsanto or Malvasìa… a little glass of each work as a time machine, and it can take you back to ancient Greeks, Romans, Medieval or Renaissance events.
Our philosophy is simple after all: getting to know a wine is the gate to know more deeply the land that generated it. This means to enter in a country and participate, feel, taste flavours and sounds, dialects and aromas.
